Brevillier Village received land development approval for an addition to Ball Pavilion.  The new 5,024 sq. ft. addition will allow Ball Pavilion to convert double occupancy rooms to single occupancy rooms to their residents.  The approval also included another 1,461 sq. ft. addition for a new physical therapy room.  The Groundbreaking Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, Agust 7, 2018.

K-Mart Plaza - Harborcreek continues to keep communication open with the owners of the plaza.  We have expressed our tax incentives for improvements or new construction which may assist in the recruitment of any new potential tenants.

How exciting that Odis 12 Sports Bar & Grille plans to expand right here, in our hometown of Harborcreek!  The location is not known at this time, but we welcome them with open arms.

East Harbor Primary Care Medical Addition Building received land development approval in December 2017.  The new addition will consists a new area for 8 doctors, imaging center, and physical therapy.  Anticipation construction will begin in the Spring of 2018.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The Supervisors of Harborcreek Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania will receive bids for the Harborcreek Township 2018 Paving Project No. 3 until 9:00 A.M., prevailing time, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the Harborcreek Township Municipal Building, 5601 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The proposed work will consist of the milling and asphalt paving of approximately 3,480 feet of two lane roadway on Cumberland Road and Luxury Drive. Asphalt paving must be completed in a single pass without a centerline longitudinal joint or seam when feasible.

Contract documents, including drawings and technical specifications, may be reviewed at the office of the Harborcreek Township Supervisors. Copies of the contract documents may be obtained by submitting a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 to Harborcreek Township for each set of contract documents so obtained or by calling (814) 899-3171. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record with the Owner as having obtained the contract documents.

A Bid Bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. A bid submitted without a Bid Bond will be rejected.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding.

Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract.

The Harborcreek Township Zoning Hearing Board will assemble on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Harborcreek Township Municipal Building, 5601 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek, PA to consider the appeal of:

Appeal No. 2018-8

Andrew & Candice Kiskadden, owners of property at 8746 Station Road, County Index No. (27) 76-237-11.01, requesting to reduce the front yard setback from the required 50 ft. to 45 ft. for the purpose of constructing a 23 ft. by 38 ft. garage addition. Property is zoned Agricultural.

Sealed proposals will be received by the Townships of Harborcreek, Greene, North East, Venango, McKean, and Waterford and the Boroughs of Edinboro, Girard and Waterford, Erie County, at the Harborcreek Township municipal building located at 5601 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421 until 10:00 a.m. and will be publicly opened and read aloud on Thursday, May 24, 2018 for the 2018 Bituminous Seal Coat Project, which includes the application of a single bituminous seal coat, polymer modified on various roads in Harborcreek, Greene, North East, Venango, McKean and Waterford Townships and Edinboro, Girard and Waterford Boroughs. The bituminous seal coat must be completed in a single pass (full width) without a longitudinal joint or seam. Prices for the application of a double seal coat for certain municipalities are also solicited. Proposals must be upon forms furnished by the Township. Bid specifications and bid forms for each project may be obtained for a nonrefundable fee of $25.00 each from Harborcreek Township or by calling (814) 899-3171. Materials must be PennDOT approved. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid made payable to Harborcreek Township. The Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids

Harborcreek Township recently acquired 1.56 acres of land adjacent to Shorewood Park along Lake Erie.  The township has been attempting to acquire the property for several years and in September 2011 was awarded 80% of the appraised value of the land ($357,000.00) from the National Scenic Byways Project – with Harborcreek Township responsible for the additional 20%.  While there is certainly limited Lake Erie Shoreline left in Erie County, Harborcreek Township Supervisors agreed to go forward with the purchase of the property to add to the Parks Department inventory.  While final details of the property acquisition were underway, Supervisors applied for an additional grant through the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources – Bureau of Recreation and Conservation (DCNR) to supplement the balance to complete closing.  To the delight of the Harborcreek Supervisors in December of 2013, DCNR awarded additional funds in the amount of $88,000.00 to Harborcreek Township.  In essence, the complete acquisition of land along Lake Erie was completely funded through grants – with no direct costs to Harborcreek residents.

It is the intention of the Harborcreek Parks Department to make general cleanup of the newly acquired property this Summer and make it usable to township residents.  In addition, the township plans to continue look for possible grant and funding opportunities to create a Master Site Plan for the future development of Shorewood Park.  In the meantime, please enjoy a new addition to the Harborcreek Parks System.

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has awarded more than $750,000 in annual coastal zone management grants to organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving Pennsylvania’s coastal zones along Lake Erie and the Delaware Estuary.

Harborcreek Township will receive $35,500 of this grant to develop a master site plan for the newly acquired Shorewood Park.
